ASU's CTEL is making a difference for those students preparing to become teachers.

ASU’s College of Teacher Education and Leadership (CTEL) has landed another plumb, this time earning a $33.8-million grant from the United States Department of Education to expand and improve its innovative, nationally recognized Professional Development School (PDS) program.

The new PDS NEXT program will positively impact 15 urban and rural partner school districts in Arizona. Simultaneously, the grant makes possible a number of enhancements to the existing PDS program to produce graduates who are even more well-prepared for success in the classroom, while expanding PDS to implement comprehensive school reform and full-range professional development including a two-year induction program for new teachers.
